Kibaale Walk
Consider making this your first in-person G3 event!
Saturday June 6

Why the Kibaale Walk?

Kuwasha is a very special ministry in Kibaale, Uganda.  It includes an elementary school, secondary school, vocational school, medical clinic and so much more.  The Kibaale Children's Centre is closely associated with Pacific Academy and has many NLCC connections.  Several NLCC staff have visited the Kibaale centre including Pastor Matthew and Pastor Kevin.  In fact, Keivn's family was able to visit for a month in 2016!  The Canadian director is Scott Wardell who also attends NLCC.  44 students in the Kibaale nursery class are currently being sponsored by NLCC families!  This year we're inviting and encouraging HSY students and families to also participate in the Kibaale walk.

What is the Kibaale Walk?

Each year Kuwasha sponsors a walk to raise support for their medical clinic. One $10 donation treats a patient for malaria, of which approximately 12,000 people die from in Uganda every year (50% of those are under the age of 5). Between now and the end of the year the Kibaale centre expects to treat 10,000 patients.  The goal of the Kibaale walk is to raise $100,000 to cover the cost of the medical clinic to see each of those patients.

This is an easy way to have a high impact for the global community.  Families in Uganda have been hit hard by the Corona pandemic and many are in extra financial need.  Please prayerfully consider if this is an area God wants you to support at this time!

Two Ways to Get Involved

  • Register here, raise support and do the walk yourself, as a family or with your G3 Group!
  • Donate towards the Kibaale walk here.  $10 can literally save a life!

Click here www.kuwasha.net/2583-2/ for more information about the ministry in Kibaale and how you can be involved.

Logistics

On June 6, participants are asked to do a 5K walk, run, or hike on their own, with their family, or with the Schultz men! (see below)  In a confrence call with church confrence leaders, Dr Bonnie Henry told BC churches that we're now allowed to have small group events outside while maintaining social distance.  A walk like this is a perfect opportunity for your first in-person event!

Any HSY students/families doing the Kibaale walk are invited to do the walk with the Caleb, Liam and Kevin Schultz on Sat June 6 at 11am. We'll be at Aldergrove Regional Park, 27240 8 Ave, using the entrance on 8th ave and meeting at the washrooms. Don't forget to donate online or bring some $ to donate!
