NLCC is passionate about serving our local community, providing opportunities to meet practical needs and hosting events for the community. These are some of the ways we serve our community.
Langley City Outreach
Every Sunday night Langley City Outreach participates in a community gathering every Sunday night at Friends Langley Vineyard. We join in community by sharing hot drinks, snacks (sometimes a meal), listen to peoples stories, and share the love of the life-changing power of Jesus Christ. Our intention is build relationships with the rapidly growing homeless population in our city and reaching out to those in need. For more details or to get connected contact the church office.
Celebrate Single Moms
On Mother's Day weekend we host an annual free event for single moms in our community to be pampered and celebrated. The day includes a breakfast/luncheon with guest speakers and fun giveaways, a day spa to relax in and workshops geared for single moms; all while kids have a blast in their own programming. The goal is that each mom walks away from the day knowing how strong and special they are, and more importantly, loved. Check back in April 2018 for event details.
Each summer we host a week long camp, typically in July, this year's camp is July 4-7 from 9am-3pm. The camp is for kids going into K - Grade 6 in September. Join us for a fun week of Bible story, crafts, games and more! Registration is open, click here to register. If you're looking to get involved in this year's camp by volunteering, click here to sign up.
The advent season is the lead up to Christmas and is the anticipation of celebrating Jesus' birth. Each year we conspire new ways to bless others in creative and generous ways. This is an opportunity for our church family to meet the practical needs of those in need, those who had a difficult year or those who are missionaries. Giving trees are setup in the foyer each November with the opportunities to give Christmas away.
Making Spirits Bright
In the lead up to Christmas each year we host an evening of Christmas story and song called Making Spirits Bright. This is a moment amidst the hustle and bustle, to invite your friends and neighbours to join you in sitting back and celebrating the magic and wonder of Christmas. It’s a performance filled with good cheer, beautiful music, heartfelt story and (of course) yummy desserts! Tickets go on sale for this event in November.
NLCC has also partnered with a number of local organizations to help enable them in the work they're doing in our community. These organizations include:
We are excited about each of these organizations and the work they do to fill needs in our community.
