We celebrate baptisms and memberships three times a year. The purpose of NLCC's Baptism and Membership Classes are to unpack the meaning of baptism and membership, to give you an opportunity to share your story with our elders, and to invite you into our family at NLCC as you publically proclaim your faith in Jesus.
As a Mennonite Brethren church, we are part of the Anabaptist tradition, meaning that we only receive into membership those who have been baptized "upon profession of faith," that is, after having made a personal, conscious decision to put faith in Christ and become his follower. If you are baptized here at NLCC, you are automatically welcomed as a "member." If you came from a Christian tradition that baptized infants, and have not been baptized upon your profession of faith, you will need to be baptized in order to become a member. If this is you, please take the full Baptism class.
If you have been a member of another MB church, we still request that you attend our Membership Class. Please plan to attend the class and your filming session whether you are attending for baptism or for membership. Childcare may be available for those who need it.
