NLCC is passionate about serving our local community, providing opportunities to meet practical needs and hosting events for the community. These are some of the ways we serve our community.

If any of the following ministries interest you, let us know by filling out the form on the overview page

Langley City Outreach

Every Sunday night Langley City Outreach participates in a community gathering at Friends Langley Vineyard. We join together in community by sharing hot drinks and snacks (sometimes a meal), listening to people's stories, and sharing the love of the life-changing power of Jesus Christ. Our intention is to build relationships with the rapidly growing homeless population in our city and reaching out to those in need. For more details or to get connected contact the church office.

Upward Basketball

We offer a basketball program for kids in grades one to five in our community. Volunteers are needed to pray, coach and referee. Training will be provided for coaches and referees, and no prior experience is required, just a love to see kids get connected with the life-changing power of Jesus Christ. Team practices will occur from 6-7pm on a weekday, and games will be played on Saturday mornings, at schools in the Yorkson area.

Catalyst Events

Advent Conspiracy
The advent season is the lead up to Christmas and is the anticipation of celebrating Jesus' birth. Each year we conspire new ways to bless others in creative and generous ways. This is an opportunity for our church family to meet the practical needs of those in need, those who had a difficult year or those who are missionaries. Giving trees are setup in the foyer each November with the opportunities to give Christmas away.

Making Spirits Bright
In the lead up to Christmas each year we host an evening of Christmas story and song called Making Spirits Bright. This is a moment amidst the hustle and bustle, to invite your friends and neighbours to join you in sitting back and celebrating the magic and wonder of Christmas. It’s a performance filled with good cheer, beautiful music, heartfelt story and (of course) yummy desserts! Tickets go on sale for this event in November.

Celebrate Single Moms
Every Mother's Day weekend we host an annual free event for single moms in our community to be encouraged and celebrated. The day includes car care, kids clothing boutique, a luncheon with guest speakers and fun giveaways, a mini-spa to relax in and workshops geared for moms; all while kids have a blast in their own programming. The goal is that each mom walks away from the day knowing how strong and special they are, and more importantly, loved.

MOVE Summer Camp
Each summer we host a week long camp, typically in July. The camp is for kids who have completed Kindergarten - Grade 5. Join us for a fun week of Bible story, crafts, games and more! Registration opens in May.

Local Partnerships

NLCC has also partnered with a number of local organizations to help enable them in the work they're doing in our community. These organizations include:

We are excited about each of these organizations and the work they do to fill needs in our community.
