I am the pastor of young adults and care ministries, so I have 2 roles at NLCC.
As pastor of young adults, I get to work with some amazing, fun and passionate people, ages 18-30. Together with an awesome team of leaders, I lead regular large group events and oversee our YA life groups. My desire is that young adults at NLCC would grow as followers of Jesus in every area of life as they navigate the particular challenges of this stage in their lives.
As pastor of care ministries, I have the privilege of cultivating a culture of care at NLCC where every person does his or her part to build up the body of Christ. I work together with gifted, compassionate people serving in areas like benevolence, hospital visitation, divorce care and mental health support. I also oversee our church’s benevolence and counselling support ministries.
I’ve been part of NLCC since 2015, ever since I married my wife, Lillian, and moved to Langley. I started on staff as an intern in adult discipleship and then worked as the custodian for a year before starting my current role. My wife and I were involved on the launch team for the Yorkson Campus, and we still like to attend there when we can. I’ve worked in a number of different jobs and places before coming to NLCC, from teaching high school English in New Mexico to landscaping in Vancouver. I graduated from Regent College in 2013 with a Master of Arts in Theological Studies. NLCC is the first (and so far only) church I’ve worked at.
My wife (Lillian) and I live in Walnut Grove, so I get to bike to work most days, which I love. Lillian serves with DRIME, a ministry that uses drama and conversation to engage people with the good news about Jesus. We have 3 beautiful girls that bring us lots of joy, and keep us busy too!
