I am the Children’s Pastor, with regular responsibility for a team of five awesome women! We work together to plan and execute programs to share Jesus with kids from nursery age to Grade 5 across both campuses. Ministry is all about people and relationship, so I’m always busy ‘building bridges’ to create a culture of care, inclusion, and love for all people.
A year and a half ago I was at another crossroad in my life, seeking God’s direction for His next assignment for me. He led me to apply for the Children’s Pastor’s position here at NLCC. Prior to being successfully chosen for this position, I served 11 years in ministry—10 years at another church serving youth and children, and one year at Union Gospel Mission doing Families Ministry in the downtown Eastside of Vancouver. I have a BA degree in Elementary Education and an AA degree in Early Childhood Education, and 15 years of experience teaching in the Cayman Islands.
My home is my oasis! I love being with my husband and spending time with my children. I am a mother to two beautiful daughters. My older daughter is happily married and my younger daughter is at the University of Waterloo.
I love to read, care for my small flower garden, and snuggle up for a great movie! In 2017 my husband and I moved into our Walnut Grove home for us to be closer to my work and the people we serve. My favourite things besides reading, gardening and movies, is looking at photo albums, going for walks with my hubby, together times with the kids and friends, and travelling overseas or road trips.
