Psalm 22 | Matthew 27:32-50
Why Have You Forsaken Me?

Jesus' cry of forsakenness shows us that he is fully human and gives us permission to cry out in lament to God. But because Jesus willingly took on the abandonment of our sin, we will never be abandoned by God. God the Father vindicated the Son by resurrecting him from the dead. Even in the midst of suffering we can have hope in the ultimate victory of God because we know how the story ends.
