Luke 2:8-14, 1 Thessalonians 1:6, Psalm 23

In this message we find that true joy is not manufactured or dependent on circumstances, but is anchored in the good news of Jesus—his saving work in history, his living presence with us now, and God’s promised future where every tear will be wiped away. Drawing from Joy to the World, the Christmas story, and the Chilean miners, we find that “nothing had changed, yet everything had changed” because God had come near and rescue was underway. Even amid darkness, anxiety, and pain, we can repeat the sounding joy because the Savior reigns, is with us in the valley, and guarantees a future where all things will be made new.
