The early church in Acts devoted themselves to the breaking of bread. Jesus gives us a picture of what that devotion looks like- remembering his body and blood given for us (the bread and the cup). With the cross at the centre of our meals together we are reminded of the power of forgiveness. An apprentice of Jesus receives the forgiveness of Jesus, and forgives others. Our life together must be grounded in the forgiveness of sins.
